Betriebssportgemeinschaft Forschungszentrum Jülich 1963 e.V.

BSG and its Objectives

Our objective is to provide our approximately 2200 members with diverse sports and leisure activities under modern conditions. As the largest association in the Düren district, we cover almost all areas of popular sport in more than 50 sports groups, including, for example, swimming for children, fishing, weightlifting and chess, as well as qigong and aikido. This is rounded off by regular family events and new courses, and by regular participation in and organization of international sports meetings with other European research institutions. Community spirit is central to us, and all our activities reflect the special Status of BSG as the sports association of Forschungszentrum Jülich.

Membership

Nevertheless, anyone can become a member of BSG, not just employees of Forschungszentrum Jülich. Membership costs between € 2,50 per month (for children) and up to € 5 (for adults), for families, the membership fee is € 12,50. After paying the respective amount, the entire range of sports at BSG can be used. All of the sports group are run by qualified instructors.

Visiting scientists are mainly foreign employees, who bring in their knowledge and experience temporarily as a invited guest to specific research projects at Forschungszentrum Jülich. In these times, as a rule, they will be unpaid of their home institution.
